Things are happening in Dalarna right now.
Daniel Åberg, Founder & Creative Director at Dalarna Digital, is joining the local steering group for Teknikcollege Dalarna, along with some of the region’s most influential players and sharpest minds. Representatives from the business community gather here to shape the future supply of technical skills, where names like SSAB, Structor, and Momentum are already part of the collective effort.
What is the initiative about?
The initiative, driven in close collaboration between business and education, is about something bigger than meetings. As Frida Björnbom (SSAB) describes it: a joint effort to strengthen the link between school and industry, create relevant training programs, and ensure that the future workforce is right here, in Dalarna.
Daniel steps into the steering group with a clear ambition: to contribute where it makes a difference.
”We are currently going through what is likely the biggest technological shift of our lifetime. Agentic AI and autonomous systems are increasingly gaining ground, which creates enormous opportunities for companies that dare to be at the forefront. At the same time, the uncertainty about how the future labor market will be affected is palpable. I believe that for the industry—together with our young people—to collectively exchange knowledge, ideas, and expectations about future competencies is both important and valuable for everyone involved,” says Daniel.
A natural step for Dalarna Digital
The engagement is voluntary, but the value is all the greater. Through recurring strategic meetings and voluntary collaborative efforts—from innovation competitions to initiatives like “Shadow an Engineer” (Skugga en ingenjör)—real encounters are created between young talents and the business community.
For Dalarna Digital, this is a natural step. For Daniel – a responsibility.
“Knowledge and education are crucial if we are to continue to create competitive companies and workplaces that make Falun and Dalarna an attractive place to operate and live in. Our young people will be the engine of this development and must therefore be allowed to take a central place in shaping the playing field. That is why Teknikcollege is highly relevant, significant, and for us, an obvious initiative to contribute to,” says Daniel.
Daniel’s goal with the commitment is crystal clear: he wants to see a region that develops in pace with the outside world.
A region in motion.
A region in collaboration.
And now – yet another strong voice at the table.
